These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of Guide.md, its websites, profiles, directories, search tools, AI-assisted features, subscriptions, featured placements, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
The Service is operated by GigHz LLC, doing business as Guide.md (“Guide.md,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our mailing address is Los Angeles, California.
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, claiming a profile, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Guide.md is not medical care
Guide.md is a directory and professional-information service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, triage, referrals, or emergency services. It does not recommend that any person select or avoid a particular healthcare provider. Use of the Service does not create a physician-patient or other professional relationship with Guide.md, a listed provider, or any contributor.
Search results, ratings, profile-completeness indicators, verification labels, and featured placements are not statements of clinical quality, safety, outcomes, board status, licensure, insurance participation, or suitability for a particular patient.
If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service. Confirm a provider’s credentials, location, availability, insurance participation, and services directly with the provider or an authoritative source before making a healthcare decision.
2. Who may use the Service
You may browse public pages if you can lawfully use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create a provider account, claim a profile, purchase a subscription, or submit professional content.
If you use the Service for a medical practice, health system, employer, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization and to manage the profiles and content you submit.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate, current, and complete account information. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not transfer, sell, rent, or share an account in a way that defeats our permissions or verification controls. Practice administrators may manage profiles only through supported team permissions and only with appropriate authority from the provider.
4. Unclaimed profiles and directory data
Guide.md may create unclaimed profiles using publicly available, licensed, or other disclosed professional data. An unclaimed profile has not been confirmed by the person it describes.
Public-source data can be incomplete, delayed, incorrect, or no longer current. Guide.md does not represent that an unclaimed profile is physician-approved. We will identify material data sources and correction procedures on our Data Sources and Corrections page.
If you are the subject of an unclaimed profile, or an authorized representative, you may request a correction, dispute, or suppression through /contact/. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or authority. Some information may remain available when publication is permitted by law and serves a legitimate directory purpose.
5. Claiming and verifying a profile
To claim a profile, you must complete the identity and authority checks we specify. A one-time $2 verification charge may apply. If you later begin a paid subscription, we credit that $2 toward your first paid invoice.
A “Verified” or similar label means that Guide.md completed its profile-control process for the account holder. Unless a field says otherwise, verification does not mean that Guide.md independently confirmed every statement on the profile. It does not certify clinical competence, quality, outcomes, licensure, board certification, disciplinary history, insurance participation, or patient availability.
We may refuse, pause, or reverse a claim if information is inconsistent, authority is disputed, fraud is suspected, or additional verification is reasonably needed.
6. Your responsibility for professional information
If you claim or manage a profile, you are responsible for keeping all submitted information accurate, current, lawful, and not misleading. You must promptly correct material changes, including changes to practice location, contact information, services, credentials, affiliations, availability, and professional status.
Do not state or imply credentials, board status, affiliations, outcomes, rankings, or availability that you cannot substantiate. You remain responsible for complying with licensing-board rules, professional advertising rules, employer policies, contractual restrictions, and all laws that apply to your professional communications.
7. Search and AI-assisted features
Guide.md may use automated or AI-assisted systems to organize information, interpret search requests, suggest profile text, draft FAQs, or display directory matches. These systems can make mistakes, omit context, or produce inaccurate output.
AI search results are informational and are not medical advice, referrals, or endorsements. AI-assisted writing remains a draft until you review and publish it. You are responsible for confirming every statement before it becomes public.
Do not enter medical records, patient identifiers, confidential employer information, or other sensitive information into an AI-assisted feature unless Guide.md expressly identifies the feature as approved for that information and provides the required safeguards and agreements. Guide.md’s public-profile and writing features are not intended to receive protected health information.
We do not guarantee that a profile will appear, rank, or be quoted in Google, another search engine, an AI model, or any third-party product.
8. Plans, pricing, and payment
Current plan features and prices appear on the Pricing page. Taxes may apply. Prices can vary for featured inventory or negotiated organizational services.
You authorize Guide.md and its payment processor to charge the payment method you provide for purchases, recurring subscriptions, taxes, and other disclosed charges. You must keep billing information current.
The Free plan has no recurring subscription price, but a one-time $2 identity-verification charge applies when a profile is claimed unless waived.
9. Automatic renewal and cancellation
Paid monthly subscriptions renew each month. Paid annual subscriptions renew each year and are billed in full. The price, billing frequency, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be shown before you purchase.
You may cancel online through account settings or at /dashboard/. Cancellation prevents the next renewal charge and takes effect at the end of the current paid term. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, payments are nonrefundable and we do not provide prorated refunds or credits for a partially used billing period. If Guide.md materially discontinues a paid Service during a prepaid term, we may provide a prorated refund or comparable remedy.
We may change subscription prices prospectively. We will provide notice required by applicable law before a new price applies to a renewal.
10. Featured placements
Featured placements are paid advertisements associated with a city and specialty or another disclosed category. We label them “Featured,” “Sponsored,” or with another clear advertising disclosure wherever they appear.
Featured status does not indicate superior clinical quality, suitability, safety, reputation, or outcomes. It is separate from profile completeness, organic relevance, and any patient-review data.
Inventory can be limited. Unless an order says otherwise, we do not guarantee a number of impressions, clicks, inquiries, appointments, patients, or revenue. You may not purchase a category you are not legally qualified to advertise.
11. Profile completeness, ratings, and ranking
A profile-completeness score measures whether selected fields have been completed. It is not a physician rating, quality score, clinical score, or endorsement.
If Guide.md displays consumer reviews or ratings, the page will identify the source and explain the methodology or link to it. Guide.md may remove content that is fake, fraudulent, unrelated, unlawful, abusive, or prohibited by these Terms, but it does not promise to remove a review merely because it is unfavorable.
Guide.md will not condition compensation or an incentive on a positive or negative review. Users may not submit fake reviews, reviews for experiences that did not occur, or reviews that conceal a material relationship.
Search order may reflect user filters, relevance, data quality, location, completeness, availability of confirmed fields, and clearly labeled paid placement. The current methodology should be described on the How Search and Featured Listings Work page.
12. Content you submit
“User Content” includes text, biographies, answers, photographs, video, links, logos, professional information, feedback, and other material you submit.
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Guide.md a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt for display and accessibility, publish, distribute, and display User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to reasonable backups, legal obligations, prior sharing, and content incorporated into aggregate or deidentified information.
You represent that you have all rights, permissions, releases, and authorizations needed for User Content and that it does not violate law, confidentiality, privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, employment, hospital, or professional obligations.
13. Patient information and media
Do not upload patient-identifiable information, patient images, testimonials, case details, or treatment media unless you have all legally required authorizations and Guide.md expressly supports the intended use. Deidentification is context-dependent and removing a name may not be enough.
Guide.md may remove patient-related content when authorization is unclear, privacy is disputed, or the content creates legal or safety risk. Removal does not shift responsibility away from the person who submitted it.
14. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Impersonate a provider, patient, practice, Guide.md employee, or another person
- Claim or alter a profile without authority
- Submit false, deceptive, defamatory, infringing, discriminatory, harassing, or unlawful content
- Fabricate credentials, affiliations, reviews, ratings, availability, or professional claims
- Scrape, harvest, bulk-download, or resell Service data except through an authorized agreement or as allowed by law
- Circumvent access, security, rate, verification, payment, or technical controls
- Reverse engineer or interfere with the Service except where law expressly permits it
- Upload malware or conduct security testing without written authorization
- Use the Service to train or build a competing directory, identity database, or AI system without written permission
- Use health-related search data for unlawful discrimination, surveillance, advertising, or other prohibited purposes
- Violate another person’s privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or publicity rights
15. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, documentation, original editorial content, and non-public databases, is owned by Guide.md or its licensors and is protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, nontransferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership.
“Guide.md” and associated marks may not be used in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation without permission.
16. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with the information required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Guide.md may remove allegedly infringing material and terminate repeat infringers when appropriate.
Complete and register a DMCA agent before relying on this provision.
17. Third-party services and links
The Service may link to practice websites, public databases, payment processors, identity-verification providers, analytics providers, video hosts, or other third parties. Guide.md does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, content, security, availability, or privacy practices.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal, billing, security, and public-directory considerations.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when we reasonably believe there is fraud, impersonation, a security threat, unlawful conduct, material inaccuracy, nonpayment, repeated infringement, or a violation of these Terms. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.
Termination does not erase payment obligations already incurred or provisions that reasonably survive, including ownership, licenses for previously distributed content, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute provisions.
19. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Guide.md disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.
We do not warrant that profile data, public-source data, search results, AI output, ratings, availability, credentials, links, or third-party information is complete, current, accurate, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation or a particular business, search, patient, or clinical result.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so part of this section may not apply to you.
20. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Guide.md and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, data, patients, opportunities, or business interruption arising from or related to the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Guide.md and the related parties for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid Guide.md during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $100.
These limits do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Guide.md and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your User Content, profile management, professional claims, patient material, misuse of the Service, or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
22. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and the parties consent to those courts’ jurisdiction and venue.
Decision required before publication: Have counsel decide whether to use court litigation, arbitration, a class-action waiver, or another dispute process. Do not paste a generic arbitration clause into the site.
23. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights or a paid subscription, we will provide notice as required by law. The “Last updated” date will show when the Terms changed. Your continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
24. General terms
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. A waiver must be explicit and does not waive later enforcement. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the Service. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any order-specific terms are the entire agreement concerning the Service.
