Write for patients on Guide.md

Doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, podiatrists, chiropractors, dentists, optometrists, physician assistants and every other licensed provider publish articles and answer patient questions here under their own name. Each piece is listed on the condition and procedure pages it belongs to, on your profile, and in the sitemap search engines and AI assistants read. No charge, no subscription, and the piece stays yours.

What you get

  • A page of its own under your name, with your photo, specialty and city, and a link to your profile and your practice website.
  • Listed on the condition and procedure pages you tie it to, next to the providers who treat them.
  • Listed on your profile and in the sitemap search engines and AI assistants read, with structured data naming you as the author.
  • Several views are welcome: your piece sits beside other clinicians' pieces on the same topic, each under a name, each dated.
  • Edit any time. It is published as written and it stays yours.

How it works

  1. Claim your profile. Free. An email at your practice, or a short review.
  2. Pick what to write. An article on anything in your field: a condition or procedure explained, visits and costs, medications and supplements, living with a condition, health policy (published as opinion), technology and AI in care, or a piece for fellow providers. Tie it to up to three conditions or procedures. Or answer a question patients ask. We suggest topics people search for; you choose.
  3. Write it in plain text. 150 to 2,500 words. One line about your practice, with a link.
  4. Run the editor check. It reads the draft and lists what a careful editor would ask about, with suggestions. You decide; it never blocks.
  5. Send it in. We read it and publish it as written, or send you one note first. You get an email either way.

How the editor check works

You write; it reads. Here is the kind of note it leaves on a draft, so you know what to expect. Nothing in it stops the piece from going in.

Summary: Clear and useful. Two places to look at before it goes live.

  • “this treatment will clear your skin” — reads as a promise. Say what it does for many patients, and that results vary.
  • “take 500 mg twice a day” — a dose aimed at the reader. Name the class of treatment and leave dosing to the visit.

The one hard rule: the piece has to be yours. A draft that is mostly a copy of another piece on Guide.md is sent back to be rewritten in your own words.

The ground rules

  • Education for the public, not advice to one reader. No promises, no doses, no diagnosis.
  • Your own words. Short quotations with the source named are fine; a pasted article is not.
  • Under your name, and your responsibility. Guide.md publishes it as written and does not review clinical content. We may ask you to look at something, decline a piece, or take one down, and we tell you when we do.
  • One line about your practice, with a link. No other links in the text.
  • Three articles a month. Answers to patient questions are not limited.

Nothing here is for sale: writing, listing and the editor check are free for every claimed profile.
