Why claim your profile

Why claim your Guide.md profile

It exists already. Claiming it takes one email: find your record on the claim page, press Claim, type your email, tick the box, click the link we send. Free, no card, no document.

It is free. Here is what a claimed profile gives you

Badges patients, attorneys and companies search by

Three are free, including the industry consultant badge; the rest come with a plan or as add-ons. Each is a fact you state, on the profile and on its own listing pages.

A page for each condition and procedure you treat, in your city

Tick it on your profile and you are on that page. Ten of each are free.

The top of your specialty page

Verified profiles list first. On a small page that is hard to miss.

Most providers never upload a document: a practice, hospital or institutional email, the link we send to it, and your name as it appears on the record. How that is checked, and what is kept on record.

The registry record, what the billing implies, the pages it would list on, who looked last month, and what the open web says today. Providers and practices both. No card, no ID, about twenty seconds.

Then fix it: with a practice, hospital or institutional email, most providers take over their own profile by confirming their name — free, no identity document. An address we cannot match is reviewed within a few days.

How ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google read a claimed profile

  • Structured data on every profile (schema.org Physician or MedicalOrganization) that search engines and AI crawlers parse directly.
  • An llms.txt entry and an open API, so language models fetch the corrected record instead of scraping an old directory.
  • Priority in the sitemap and first position on the condition, procedure and city pages you confirm.
  • An AI visibility score in your editor that tells you what is still missing and why.

We publish your profile in the formats these systems read. No one can promise what any model will say, and we do not.

Someone else wrote your current profile.

Search engines and AI assistants are already answering questions about your practice — using an old address, a former employer’s page, or a directory you have never logged into.

  • An old office address stays online long after you have moved.
  • A hospital affiliation disappears without anyone telling you.
  • Your subspecialty gets flattened into one generic label.
  • A third-party rating outranks the work behind your name.

Claiming your profile gives patients and machines one source you control — your credentials, locations, services, languages and links, kept current by you.
