Your name is already on the internet. You just don’t control it.
Every provider in the U.S. NPI registry has a profile here — including yours, whether or not you have ever heard of us. That is how public registry data works, and it is how every directory you have ever been annoyed by got your details in the first place.
The difference is what you can do about it. Verify who you are, and this page becomes yours to write.
What an unclaimed profile says about you
Right now, if a patient searches your name, they may find a page assembled entirely from a federal registry: a taxonomy code translated into a specialty label, whatever practice address you last filed, and a phone number that may be two employers out of date. No context. No sub-specialty. No indication of what you actually treat.
That page is being read by patients, by referring colleagues, and increasingly by AI assistants answering “who should I see for this in my area”. None of them can tell that it is incomplete.

How it works
- Find your profile. Search your name or NPI and click “Claim this profile”.
- Create an account. Email and password. Two minutes.
- Verify your identity. A government-issued ID and a selfie, handled entirely by Stripe. We never see the document — see Verification standards.
- Edit. Your changes publish immediately. There is no review queue and no waiting on us.
Straight answers to the obvious questions
What does it cost?
Claiming and correcting your profile is free, and always will be. Correcting wrong information about a real person is not something anybody should have to pay for. Paid plans add optional things — richer profile fields, analytics, featured placement — and are listed on the pricing page.
Can I just have it taken down?
Yes. Email support@guide.md with your NPI and we will suppress the listing. No account, no charge, no attempt to talk you out of it.
Will a data refresh overwrite what I write?
No. Once a profile is claimed, the weekly registry import stops writing to it. If the registry reports a change, it goes into a queue for you to accept or reject, and you are told what changed and where it came from.
Does paying move me up the search results?
No. Ordering is verified profiles first, then most complete — the rule is published on How search works. Featured placement is a separate, clearly labelled slot that sits outside the ranked list, and it never reorders the organic results beneath it.
